LUGOGO – Uganda Christian University are the 2018/19 FUFA Women Elite League champions.
This was confirmed on Sunday, 2nd of June at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo when the Mukono best side defeated Lady Doves 2-0 to win their first ever League championship.
A Hassifah Nassuna strike in the first half was added onto by Maureen Kinavudori to ensure UCU stops Lady Doves’ hopes for a double this season.

Nassuna handed UCU the lead in the 38th minute with well-taken free-kick that beat Lady Doves goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro.
Lady Doves saw to glorious opportunities to level the game, go to waste as striker Akwero Miriam could not get the better of Ruth Aturo in the UCU goal.
In the second half, captain Kinavudori had an opportunity to double the lead when she controlled the ball in inside the area before shooting wide of the target.
Nassuna would have been on spot with another well-curved free-kick on the edge of the box in the 75th minute however the ball went inches wide.
With 7 minutes to play in the game, Kinavudori would not be denied for a second time as she was played in by Jacqueline Nakasi and the skipper made no mistake, finding the back of the net as putting the game to bed.
