KITENDE – Vipers SC are understood to have completed a deal to sign Tooro United forward Allan Kayiwa.
According to reports by Swift Sports, Kayiwa has signed a three year deal at the Kitende based side.
Kayiwa had a magnificent 2018/19 season at Tooro, scoring 10 goals whilst assisting 6. His numbers propelled the Uganda Cranes technical team to summon him for the 2019 COSAFA Cup in South Africa.
He has been on the redder of several top flight clubs including KCCA FC and URA, but it is now believed that he is a Venom.
Kayiwa joined Tooro United in 2015 from the club’s youth team and has since then been a mainstay in the side that finished 4th last season.
He is the second signing for Vipers this off season, joining Paul Willa and Rashid Toha.
Signing Kayiwa is a major step in the right direction as Vipers bid to resurrect from a below-par season, last.
The Venoms who came into last season as the defending league champions and finalist in the Uganda Cup, could not replicate such form.
Representing Uganda in the CAF Champions league, the Venoms were eliminated at the second round of qualification and hence dropped to the Confederation Cup. While there, they also failed to make it to the Group stages as they fell immediately.
In the League, they came second to KCCA FC while a humiliating exit to then-Big League side, Proline FC, ended their Uganda Cup campaign at the quarter-final stage.
After such a disappointing season, the Kitende based side was expected to strengthen their playing staff and have not disappointed so far.
