KAMPALA – Former KCCA FC midfielder Ivan Ntege has made a shocking return to the Uganda Premier League after putting ink on paper for the free-spending tax collectors, Uganda Revenue Authority
Ivan Ntege popularly known as “Kojja” by his fans has joined URA FC on a two-year deal as a free agent following the expiration of his contract at Botswana outfit Township Rollers and no effort was made towards renewing it.
The holding midfielder is expected to fill the disconnect that was created by Siraje Ssentamu in the heart of URA’s midfield following his return switch to Kitende based side SC Vipers.
The dynamic and energetic midfielder completed his move to Township Rollers in 2017, winning the Botswana Premier League twice and one Mascom Top 8 cup with the club.
URA FC coached by Sam Simbwa has been very busy in this transfer market and has already captured the signatures of eight players with Ivan Ntege making a total of 9 new recruits.
Ntege has previously played for Mutundwe Lions before joining the Kasasiros where he featured for 6 years; he has also been a key figure for the Uganda Cranes in both African cup qualifiers and African Nations Championships campaigns.
Ntege will join the list of new recruits with other players like Mikidadi Ssenyonga, Ivan Sserubiri, Douglas Kisembo, Brian Majwega, Ashraf Mandela, Ntege Anwaru Mustafa and Hassan Kalega.
