After a good showing at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, it was inevitable that Uganda Cranes players would be getting juicy offers from clubs across the continent.
The first is Khalid Aucho who has completed a move to Egyptian top tier side Misr Lel Makkasa Sporting Club.
The former Jinja Municipal Council (JMC) Hippos midfielder is understood to have put pen to paper on a two-year deal that will see him feature for Makkasa at least up until the close of the 2020/21 season.
The deal will see Aucho earn a staggering $600,000 for the two years he will be in Egypt.
Upon signing for Makkasa, Aucho’s agent, Geoffrey Kayemba praised him for his dedication over the years.
“Aucho has shown commitment and dedication over the years to improve his game, noted Kayemba.
‘Hopefully, this is another stepping stop in his career.
Kayemba was with the Cranes throughout their stay at the 2019 AFCON, hoping to seal a big deal for his client.
Aucho featured in all four of Uganda’s matches in Egypt as they impressively finished second in Group A before going on to lose 0-1 to Senegal in the round of 16.

The 26-year-old started out with JMC Hippos, playing for them in the 2009-10 season before moving to Water FC where he played for two years.
From there, he was transferred to Simba SC in 2012, joined Tursker FC in 2013 and after one season, moved to Gor Mahia.
The journey-man continued his adventures at Baroka FC, joining the South African side in 2016 and after one year, he was transferred to Red Star Belgrade. At Red Star, Aucho failed to make it into the first team and was eventually let go of in 2017 before joining Indian Side East Bengal.
His stay with Bengal was short-lived as he eventually joined Church Hill Brothers in 2018, the club he has been playing for before joining Makkasa.
For Uganda, Aucho made his debut in 2013 and as of Monday, June 8th-2019, he has featured in 43 competitive matches, scoring just two goals, including one against Botswana in the 2017 AFCON qualifiers.
