KITENDE – Vipers Sports Club (SC) has finally unveiled Paul Willa as their new signing.
The Kitende based side captured Willa a few weeks ago but were yet to unveil him to the football fraternity.
The 19-year-old is understood to have put pen to paper on a three year deal on Thursday, July 04th, and will be a Venom at least up to the close of the 2021/22 season.
Upon putting pen to paper, Willa expressed his delight to be joining the Venoms and promised to give his all for his new side.
“I am extremely happy to be here, noted the 19-year-old.
“I will give all for my team. My objective is always to win and am sure this is the perfect place and time to make this happen.”
Willa joins Vipers from Police FC where he had an impressive 2018/19 season, scoring three goals for the Cops.
His performances for Abdallah Mubiru’s side saw him called up for the Uganda Cranes side that had a dismal performance at the 2019 COSAFA Cup in South Africa.

He becomes the second signing for Vipers after the Kitende based side signed Allan Kayiwa from Tooro United.
Willa will team-up with former Cop, Rahmat Ssenfuka who is headed into his second year at Vipers.
For Police, he becomes the second player to officially leave Police FC after last season’s top scorer Juma Balinya completed his move to Tanzanian giants Yanga FC last month.
Despite being a high profile player, Willa will face stiff competition for a place in the starting team as Vipers already have Karim Niyizigmana occupying the right-back spot.
However, for them, it is much-needed competition as they look to put a disastrous 2018/19 season behind them.
The Venoms came into last season as the defending league champions and finalist in the Uganda Cup but could not replicate such form.
Representing Uganda in the CAF Champions league, the Venoms were eliminated at the second round of qualification and hence dropped to the Confederation Cup. While there, they also failed to make it to the Group stages as they fell immediately.
In the League, they came second to KCCA FC while a humiliating exit to then-Big League side, Proline FC, ended their Uganda Cup campaign at the quarter-final stage.
Vipers began their pre-season preparations last week and are expected to make a few more changes to their squad to get the best out of the 2019/20 campaign.
