LUGOGO – Betting giants Betway and Power Basketball team continue to extend support towards Ugandan sport!
On Friday, August 9th-2019, the two entities donated equipment worth UGX 5 million to Gulu Wheelchair Basketball team.
The ceremony was held at the MTN Arena in Lugogo.

“We are proud to announce that UGX5M was collected and together with Betway Power Basketball Club, we donated it to Gulu Wheelchair Basketball Association through equipment like playing Jerseys, tracksuits, balls and training kits.”
Also speaking at the event, Power president Patrick Obalim said the club is very much intent on helping the needy.
“We couldn’t do this without our sponsors Betway, noted Obalim.
“As power basketball, we believe in such good initiatives to develop the sports through helping those ones in need and continue to work together as a team to achieve the desired goals.”
The Gulu Hawks are slated to take part in an unnamed championship in Mpigi in September. The following month, they are understood to be traveling to Kenya where they will participate in another tournament.
Gulu Hawks head coach Paul Acaye thanked Betway for their support.

“We hope that these kits make us look like a professional team.”
After receiving the equipment, the team played a 5 on 5 10 minute basketball game which left on-lookers in amazement.
