
Shafick Kakeeto has completed a move to Busoga United.
The former Express FC defender is understood to have signed a one-year deal at the Jinja based side and will feature for them in the upcoming season.
He signs as a free agent after his deal with the Red Eagles expired at the end of last season.
Under the guidance of George Ssemwogere last season, Kakeeto fell out of favour as the former right-back preferred to partner John Revita and Isaac Mutanga at the heart of his defence.
After the season ended, Kakeeto was deemed surplus to requirements and told he could leave.
He was initially believed to be on his way to Kyetume but the move fell through due to financial issues.
The versatile defender qho can also play in midfield had previously featured for for KJT Rwenshama and Sona before moving to Express.
Busoga who confirmed Abbey Kikomeko as their coach, finished ninth with 41 points last season.
The Jinja based side who will host games at FUFA Njeru Technical center, open their league campaign with Tooro United on Saturday, August 3 at Wankulukuku before facing KCCA FC and Bright Stars.
