CAF Champions League
African Stars FC vs KCCA FC
Sam Najoma Stadium, Windhoek
Saturday, 10-07-2019
KCCA FC have on Wednesday morning departed for Namibia ahead of their CAF Champions League first round game.
The reigning StarTimes Uganda Premier league champions will take on African Stars at the Sam Najoma Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the first leg.
A contingent of 35 personnel headed by FUFA’s Rogers Byamukama and two KCCA FC Board representative in Aggrey Ashaba and George Okello, has left the country at 6:50am via Entebbe Airport.
They are expected to have two stop overs in Kigali-Rwanda and Johannesburg-South Africa before finally landing in Windhoek, Namibia later in the day (Wednesday).
The contingent that has departed, comprises of 18 players, 7 coaches, 2 doctors, 2 media personnel and 2 administrators.
Among the players, it is surprising that Allan Kyambadde was missing.

The former SC Villa midfielder has gone AWOL since the Uganda Cranes victory over Somalia last weekend, failing to return to his club for training.
He was also not part of the team’s official season photo that was taken on Wednesday and it is understood that Kyambadde is seeking for a move away from KCCA FC.
Also missing from the team are the three summer arrivals. Erisa Ssekisambu, John Revita and Simon Serunkuma have all been left home as the Kasasiros bid to earn an early advantage in the tie.
Among the travelling team, three players will be making their continental debuts. These are; Kasozi Nicholas and newly promoted players from the club’s soccer academy Kato Samuel and Sadat Anaku.
The return leg is on Friday 23rdAugust 2019 at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
