Rays of Grace Primary School were crowned the inaugural winners of the FUFA Primary Schools championship (ODILO) on Wednesday.
To achieve the fate, the Buganda based school defeated their Oasis Annex counterparts 1-0 in the final played at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
Leonard Kasanya scored the day’s only goal to ensure his school is penned down in the history books as the first winners of the competition which was launched earlier this year.
With the game headed for kicks from the penalty mark, the captain stepped up to be counted, poking home the winner-his fourth goal of the competition.

How they reached the final
In the last 8, Rays of grace defeated Citizen Primary School 2-1 before taking care of Bright Valley in the semis.
For Oasis Annex, they got past Busumba Primary school in the quarters before eliminating Tooro Boarding in the last 4.
In the third-place playoff match, Bright Valley defeated Tooro Boarding 2-0.
After the tournament, Rays of Grace and Oasis Annex will represent Uganda in the East African games (FEASSA) slatted for this month (August) in Tanzania.
Awards
Kasanya was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) while his Francis Omongolit took home the golden glove as the best keeper. Omongolit conceding only two goals.
Green Valley’s Viera Airtuijuka finished as the tournament’s top scorer with six goals while his school were consoled with the Fair Play Award.
