Wakiso Giants 0-1 Bul FC
Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakissha
Saturday, 14-09-2019
Former SC Villa and Vipers SC defender Ibrahim Kiyemba was the villain as Bul FC stunned Wakiso Giants 1-0 in the Uganda Premier League.
Kiyemba scored the only goal of the game but it was in the wrong net, to hand Bul a third victory of the season.
With both side preparing for the interval, the Wakiso Giants center-half deflected Charles Sebutinde’s cross past custodian Derrick Emukule and into the back of the net.
The loss is Wakiso’s first at home this season having beaten both URA FC and Tooro United at the same venue earlier.
This is also their second defeat of the season after losing 1-0 away to KCCA FC in their maiden clash of campaign.
Having also drawn with Bright Stars earlier in the week, the Purple Sharks have now dropped eight points from their first 5 games.
For Bul, this was a perfect response to losing 3-0 in the Jinja Derby on Wednesday.
They looked motivated from the on-set with James Otim pulled an effort wide from just inside the area.
Sebutinde was unlucky not to open the scoring as he saw an effort kiss the cross bar after he was teed up by Deogracious Ojok.
Bul now climb into 4th on the log with 9 points having also beaten Express FC and Police FC on match-day one and two respectively.
In their next fixtures, Wakiso Giants are away to Onduparaka FC on October 2nd, a day after Bul host Maroons at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
