NJERU – KCCA FC will be hoping to register a first victory when they take on BUL on Tuesday afternoon.
It has been a trying period for the Uganda Premier League defending champions and have failed to win a competitive game since defeating Busoga United 1-0 at the start of September.
In that period, Mike Mutebi’s side have lost one game and drawn the other two games.
They drew home and away with Angolan side Petro de Luanda in the CAF Champions, lost to Tooro United in the League before drawing 1-1 with Bright Stars last weekend.
It is a run of results that has seen questions asked of both the team and manager Mike Mutebi.
Despite the pressure from both the media and fans, the gaffer is not concerned.
“We are not worried by the current situation, noted Mutebi ahead of Tuesday’s game.
“We want to win but other clubs also come for points in every game we play.
“We do not expect any easy game but we will do all we can so as to win the game.
KCCA FC have arguably the best squad in the League but things are not going their way.
Star-men Allan Okello and Mike Mutyaba are not banging in the goals up front but Mutebi hopes that will change soon.
“The game against BUL, all the players should raise themselves and compete, continued Mutebi.
“I am not putting them under any pressure because they know what to do.
“BUL are coming off a good result away from home and we expect them to come and compete with us so i expect a good contest.”
KCCA FC will be boosted by the return of youthful striker Sadat Anaku who is understood to have shaken off fatigue and is ready to feature. However, the Kasasiros are still without Muzamir Mutyaba, Jurua Hassan, Julius Poloto and Sadam Juma who are all still injured.
BUL will head into the encounter full of confidence as they have enjoyed a fine start to the season.
After 6 games, Peter Onen’s side are second on the log with 13 points having won four, drawn one and lost as many in those fixtures.
They are also coming off a moral boosting result as they drew 1-1 with URA FC at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
Robert Mukongotya has been integral to their success so far and has scored two goals already.
He will be the key-player to watch for the home side as they seek to maintain their good run of form.
