Police FC vs Wakiso Giants FC
StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo
Tuesday, 29-10-2019 @4:30
LUGOGO – Police FC will host Wakiso Giants FC at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo on Tuesday afternoon.
The Cops have had a trying start to the season and are yet to gain momentum as they sit second from bottom.
After 8 games, the Cops have collected just two points and know they need to start winning games as soon as possible.
Currently, they are on a three game losing run including a 2-1 loss to Busoga United in their last game.
The game is special in one way or another to Police head coach Abdallah Mubiru.
Mubiru is a close friend to Wakiso Giants FC owner Musa Atagenda and the latter was highly tipped to take charge of the Purple Sharks this season but in a twist of events, he declined the role, opting to remain at Police.
However, with Police already embroiled in the relegation battle, that will all be forgotten for at least 90 minutes.
Speaking ahead of the game, Mubiru highlighted the desire for his side to collect maximum points.
“We are targeting victory on Tuesday because we desperately need points, noted Mubiru.
“We know that the season is still young but one needs to collect points as soon as possible so as to avoid the dog fight.
“Wakiso is a good team with loads of good players but we want the points and hopefully we get them at the end of the day.
For Wakiso, their form has been wobbly since the season started.
After getting seven points from their opening four games, Kefa Kisala’s side has managed just six from a possible 15 from their last 5 games.

Currently, they sit 8th on the log with 13 points.
Ahead of the game, Kisala anticipates a tricky contest.
“They are desperate and that makes it a tricky game,” he said.
“Despite failure to collect points, they have been playing well and they have a good coach but we are ready.”
Wakiso heads in to the game with team Captain Yasin Mugabi returning from a long injury lay off and could start in goal. Tom Masiko is also in contention to feature after missing the 2-1 win over Proline while Yasin Mugume started training with the team. Ayub Kisaliita remains the key absentee from the game as he still nurses a knee injury.
