Betway Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku
Tuesday, 29-10-2019 @4:30pm
WANKULUKUKU-Express FC will be out to return to winning ways in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday afternoon when they take on Busoga United at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
The Red Eagles who were on a two game winless run lost 3-0 to Vipers SC in their last game, a result that saw them slump down the table.
Before a kick of the ball on Tuesday, the Red Eagles find themselves 11th on the log, five points away from the relegation zone and it is a situation that they will want to put right as soon as possible.
Manager George Ssemwogerere is no longer under pressure as ut was at the beginning of the season but knowing the Express fans, a run of a couple of poor results may see him get back into the firing line.
Ahead of the games Ssemwogere says his players are ready to take three points off Busoga United.
“We are ready just like any other game the only challenge is the stadium but the players are fit and very ready for that game, noted Ssemwogere as quoted by Express FC official website.
As the players and technical team prepare for the game, the state of the pitch is not at its best after a function on Sunday.
It is an issue that has affected Express FC in the past and one that many have become accustomed to.
On the pitch, Ssemwogere had this to say;
“The pitch isn’t really in a good playing condition but we have nothing to do it is what we use we don’t have our own so we have to endure.”
Express FC will still be without several first team players for Tuesday’s game. Mathiaus Muwanga is still nursing a back injury. Hamdan Nsubuga as well as Emmanuel Baffoe are also out of the contest due to injuries. Joseph Zziwa and Avemah Shafiq are yet to obtain licenses and will still be unavailable.
For Busoga United, they come into the game in good form having won both of their last two games.
The Jinja based side defeated Proline 1-0 and then Police 2-1 to collect much needed six points in their last encounters.
The two victories put an end to a winless run that had seen Busoga take just a point from three games and they will be smelling blood on Tuesday.
