Wakiso Giants FC vs Mbarara City FC
Betway Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku
Saturday, 05-10-2019 @4pm
Wakiso Giants FC will take on Mbarara City FC in ine of the seven Uganda Premier league games to be played on Saturday.
The Purple Sharks have seen a deep in form lately after a decent start to the season.
After taking seven points from their first four games and going on a three match unbeaten streak, things have turned for the worst for Kefa Kisala’s side.
They have lost their last two encounters, losing 1-0 to Bul at home and then 1-0 to Onduparaka in their last outing.
The result have not been welcomed well by the Wakiso faithful and the team is expected to make an instant positive reaction.
Ahead of the game, Kisala also thinks that it is high time his side started picking points again.
“We can not afford to drop more points, noted Kisala.
“We have been unlucky in our previous games as we got results that our performances never deserved.
“We have a game to try and correct that and we must react.”
Wakiso Giants are expected to still be without the injured trio of Yasin Mugabi, Yasin Mugume and Aggrey Madoi. Muwadda Mawejje also joins the list of absentees and will not be available on Saturday.
For Mbarara City FC, they returned to winning ways on Wesnesday as they defeated Busoga United 2-1.
It was the perfect result for new head coach Paul Nkata who replaced Brian Ssenyondo at the helm.
The victory was the Ankole Lions’ second of the season and it took them to eight points.
Currently, they are one point and spot ahead of Wakiso Giants, meaning that the winner on Saturday climbs ahead of the other.
Nkata will be hoping the duo of Paul Mucureezi and Brain Ahebwa-who scored on Wednesday-will be lethal once again in Mbarara’s quest for three more points.
