Uganda Premier League
Bright Stars 0-1 Police FC
Bombo Barracks Stadium, Bombo
Friday, 15-11-2019
Life under Paul Kiwanuka started with loss as Bright Stars were defeated 1-0 by Police on Friday afternoon.
Kiwanuka who replaced Muhammad Kiwanuka as the Stars head coach hours before, could only look on as Ben Ocen scored the only goal of the game.
Ocen who has now scored 8 goals this season, converted from the spot after Andrew Kaggwa handled in the box in the 24th minute.
It was a frustrating day for the Matugga based side who saw Kaggwa and Ronald Sempala both booked.
They could not fight back despite the introductions of Alfred Onek, Medi Kyeyune and Brian Kayanja in the second half.
This is their 7th loss of the season having drawn 7 and won one of the other 8 first round games.
For Police, they registered their 4th victory of the campaign.
They climb into 14th with 11 points from 14 games. The Cops are now a point ahead of Bright Stars on the log.
In their final game of the first round, Police will take on bottom side-Proline FC.
