Barely six months after leaving, Paul Kiwanuka has returned to Uganda Premier League side Bright Stars.
Kiwanuka who was in the past assistant to Fred Kajoba for some time has been appointed head coach of Bright Stars.
He replaces Muhammad Kisekka who joined the team this summer.
Kisekka is understood to have been given the role of heading the scouting and Youth youth development.
This was confirmed on Friday morning through a statement released by the club.
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kiwanuka Paul as the new head coach of the club until the end of the current season,” Read the statement.
“Mr. Kiwanuka replacing Mr. Muhammad Kisekka who will be deployed by the club in another capacity as the head of scouting and youth development.”
By the time of Kisekka’s departure, Bright Stars have won just one game this campaign and are fighting to fend off relegation to the Big League.
Their record stands at one victory, seven draws and six losses in 14 games and they sit 14th out of 16 teams.
Their next assignment will see Bright Stars host Police FC at Bombo Barracks Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the technical team that worked under Kisekka will be maintained, with Samuel Mugerwa staying on as an assistant coach.
