Bright Stars FC 1-0 Onduparaka FC
FUFA Technical Center, Njeru
Saturday, 02-11-2019
NJERU – Bright Stars FC finally ended their winless stary to the Uganda Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Despite not playing at their usual home ground in Wankulukuku, that did not stop Muhammad Kiseka from overcoming Onduparaka 1-0 at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
With Wankulukuku currently banned, Bright Stars had to search for a venue for the game and will be delighted with the luck that Njeru came with.
Substitute Muhammad Kyeyune was the hero for the home side who had to wait until the 11th match-day for thier first three points.
Kyeyune came on for Sam Ssekito with 21 minutes on the clock and what a stroke of genius Kisseka’s change would turn out to be.
After just second of coming on, Kyeyune netted his first goal of the season and one Onduparaka would not recover from.
It was a game that was played in fair spirits as evident from the number of cautions ditched out with either side receiving a single yellow card.
The long awaited victory sees Bright Stars move onto 9 points from 11 games. However, they stay in 14th.
For Onduparaka, they remain 4th on the standings with 19 points.
In their next fixtures, Bright Stars are away to Mbarara City FC next Wednesday, a day after Onduparaka would have hosted BUL FC.
