Jinja based side Bul FC have made a few changes in the administration.
The side announced Ronald Barente as the new chairperson on Friday in a media meeting held at the club headquarters in Masese, Jinja.
Barente, an engineer by profession replaces Silver Alias who has been club chairman since it’s promotion to top-flight eight years ago.
While ascending to the top seat, Barente appreciated his predecessor saying; “We thank Mr. Alias Silver for his unprecedented leadership since the club gained promotion in 2011 and we are grateful for his enthusiastic contributions to the team.
“It is worth noting that Mr. Alias was the first company staff to run this Club in the helm for this long and he’s leaving it a good state of performance where we sit second on the 16 team log with 28 points gathered by this far.”
Alias leaves the position with his head up high as he’s left it in an enviable state. Bul who have never been demoted since gaining promotion to the Uganda Premier League in 2011 currently occupy the second position in the league with 28 points, six adrift of table leaders Vipers. it may seem a dream to the outsiders, but Bul faithful believe they can go a long way to lifting the trophy come June.
Bul also under Alias won the Fufa Juniors League last season.
With the above facts, the role comes with challenges, but Barente should be well placed to manage the expectations of both the fans and management.
Although not with the same setup or ambitions, Barente previously served at Bul’s corporate team in the same capacity.
Bul welcome bottom-placed Proline on Saturday in their next league engagement.
