
Barcelona was subjected to a third loss of the season this past weekend as they threw away a 1-0 lead to lose 3-1 away to Levante.
Captain Lionel Messi put Ernesto Valverde’s side in front form the spot on 38 minutes but Levante turned the game on its head in the second half as Jose Campana, Nemanja Radoja and Borja Mayoral all found the back of the net.
Despite the loss, Barca remains top of the standings with 22 points from 11 encounters. They are level on points with both Real Madrid and Real Sociedad.
For Real, they were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw by Real Betis on the same day while Sociedad saw Portu score either side of Vadilo’s goal as they beat Granada 2-1 away from home on Sunday.
Fourth and fifth spots are occupied by Atletico Madrid and Sevilla respectively. The two sides who each now have 21 points faced off on Saturday night with the game ending 1-1 after Franco Vazquez gave Sevilla a first-half lead before Alvaro Morata equalized in the second half.
Elsewhere, Valencia came from a goal down to defeat Espanyol 2-1, Real Valladolid were 3-0 winners at home to Mallorca, Osasuna powered past Alaves 4-2 while both Getafe and Eibar registered slim victories away to Celta Vigo and Leganes respectively.
In the Serie A, both Juventus and Inter Milan continued their fine start to the season with slim victories on the road.
Juve required a De Ligt goal 20 minutes from time to take care of Torino 1-0 while Romelu Lukaku scored a second-half brace as Inter came from a goal down to defeat Bologna 2-1.

The result means Juve remain top of the pile with 29 points, one ahead of Inter with both sides having played 11 games so far.
Atalanta who started the day in 3rd spot have now slipped to 5th following a 2-0 home loss to Cagliari on Sunday afternoon. Mario Pasalic scored an own goal before Christian Oliva sealed the game which also had Josip Ilicic sent off for Atalanta in the first half.
After Atalanta slipped, Roma and Lazio took advantage to climb into 3rd and 4th respectively.
Roma beat Napoli 2-1 on Saturday with Nicola Zaniolo and Jordan Veretout scoring the home side’s goals before Arkadiusz Milik scored a late consolation. For Lazio, they overcame AC Milan 2-1 at the San Siro on Sunday. Ciro Immobile and Joachim Correa got the goals for the visitors, either side of a Bastos own goal.
Elsewhere, Udinese beat Genoa 3-1 away from home, Hellas Verona were 2-1 winners at home to Brescia, Lecce and Sassuolo drew 2-2 while Fiorentina were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Parma.
The fixture between SPAL and Sampdoria will be played on Monday night.
In Ligue One, PSG suffered a 3rd loss of the season as they were beaten 2-1 away to Dijon.

The Parisians took a 19th-minute lead through Kylian Mbappe but Dijon powered back Mounir Chouiar and Jhonder Cadiz to win the contest.
The defeat leaves PSG still top of the pile with 27 points, 7 ahead of second-placed Anger who had Stephane Bahoken to thank as they defeated Strasbourg 1-0 on Saturday night.
Still on Saturday, Lyon made it two victories on the trot as they overcame a spirited Toulouse side 3-1 away from home. Yaya Sanogo put the home side ahead on 15 minutes but Memphis Depay replied for Lyon 11 minutes later before Anthony Lopez scored an own goal to restore Toulouse’s lead. Lyon got stronger and Moussa Dembele levelled matters on 67 minutes, setting the stage for Depay to win the contest for Lyon in the last minute of normal time.
In the biggest contest of the weekend, Morgan Sanson and a Gabriel own goal ensured Marseille beat Lille 2-1 at the Velodrome. Adama Soumaoro got the visitors consolation goal late in the game.
Elsewhere, Metz drew 2-2 with Montpellier, Amiens beat Brest 1-0, Bordeaux were 2-0 winners at home to Nantes, Nice defeated Reims 2-0 while Saint Etienne scrapped past Monaco 1-0 thanks to a Denis Bouanga second-half goal.
The game between Nimes and Rennes which was supposed to take place on Saturday was postponed.
In the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich was subjected to their heaviest loss in ages as they were humiliated 5-1 away to Frankfurt.
After Jerome Boateng was sent off in the 9th minute, Frankfurt ran riot with Filip Kostic, Djibril Sow, David Abraham, Martin Hinteregger and Goncalo Paciencia all scored. Robert Lewandowski had initially made the score 2-1 in the first half, scoring Bayern’s consolation goal.
The result sees Bayern drop into 4th on the standings with 18 points, four behind leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.

After the loss, Bayern fired head coach Nico Kovac.
Gladbach who are currently the surprise leaders of the Bundesliga were also in action on Saturday afternoon, defeating Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 away from home.
Ozcar Wendt and Marcus Thuram scored Gladbach’s goals either side of a Kevin Volland leveler.
This was Gladbach’s 7th win of the season and it sees them move onto 22 points from their first 10 games.
RB Leipzig were the biggest winners of the weekend as they thumped hapless Mainz 8-0.
Timo Werner grabbed a hattrick while Marcelo Sabitzer, Christoph Nkuku, Marcelo Halstenberg, Yussuf Poulsen and Nordi Mukiele each scored once to complete the hammering.
The win takes Leipzig into third on the log with 18 points, one behind second-placed Dortmund.
For Dortmund, they were also victors this past weekend as they defeated Wolfsburg 3-0.
Thogan Hazard, Raphael Guerreiro and Mario Gotze were all on the score-sheet for Lucien Favre’s side who have now gathered 19 points from their first 10 games.
Elsewhere, Hoffenheim beat Paderborn 3-0, Bremen drew 2-2 with Freiburg, Union Berlin were 1-0 winners at home to Hertha Berlin, Dusseldorf overpowered Koln 2-0 while Schalke scrapped to a 3-2 victory away to Augsburg.
