Uganda Premier League
Express FC vs Maroons FC
FUFA Technical Center, Njeru
Tuesday, 05-11-2019 @1pm
NJERU – Express FC will be hoping to add three more points to their tally when they take on Maroons FC in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday.
The Red Eagles are high on confidence after registering their biggest win of the season on Saturday as they defeated Wakiso Giants FC 3-0.
Tuesday’s game comes with an inconvenience of its kind as it will be played at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
This comes after the Federation of Uganda Football Association put an indefinite ban on Wankulukuku where Express host their games.
With pitches scarce in the country, the Red Eagles have resorted to Njeru and it remains to be seen if this will be the last time they host a game there.
With the venue aside, their is also another complication with the kick off time.
Njeru is set to host to games on Tuesday and with Police FC vs URA FC slated for 4:30pm, that means Express and Maroons will have to tussle it out at 1pm.
The sort of time is rare in Ugandan football but ut will be the second time a top-flight game kicks off at that time as Busoga United and Villa played a game under similar conditions earlier.
Express who come into the game in 9th spot with 13 points, will be without Cyrus Kibande, Hamdan Nsubuga, Mathias Muwanga and Emmanuel Baffoe who are still injured. Kibande and Nsubuga are expected to soon be back while Muwanga and Baffoe are long term absentees.
Frank Ssenyondo and Daniel Shabena were substituted in the victory over Wakiso Giants FC on Saturday with knocks but have both recovered and will be available to play.
Maroons on the other side will also be hoping for a good result from the game.
Douglas Bamweyana’s side have so far been one of the surprises of the season after starting strongly as per their standards.
After 11 games, they sit 6th with 16 points.
They are also in inspired form, coming off a 2-1 victory over Police FC in their last game.
