Police FC assistant coach John Luyinda is hoping their comfortable win over struggling Tooro United on Wednesday creates a motivating atmosphere at the club.
The Cops scored four goals with Samson Kigozi netting a brace while Ben Ochen and Musa Matovu each netted one as they dispatched the Fort Portal based side.
Police were scoring four goals in a single match for the first time this season, but the win was their third and it is one Luyinda hopes helps motivate and raise the confidence in the squad.
“The game was good. Thank God we were able to convert our chances, he stated.
“That has been our challenge, but the mere fact that we had an early lead, we grew in confidence and we went on scoring and eventually won the game.
“We hope the confidence is back and we hope this Spirit continues.”
Before Wednesday, Police had kept a clean sheet just twice, and they’d been on a losing streak of three games, their latest defeat coming over the weekend against champions KCCA.
It was a deserved victory and one that was needed. However, the side stays second last in the table standings, now with 8points.
