CAF Confederations Cup
Paradou AC 4-1 KCCA FC
Stade 5 Juillet Stadium, Algiers
Sunday, 03-11-2019
Uganda will have no representative in the CAF Confederations Cup group stage 2020.
After what promised to be a bright campaign for KCCA FC and Proline FC, they were both eliminated from the competition on Sunday.
With Proline falling out first, the Kasasiros followed suit in miserable fashion as they lost 4-1 away to Paradou.
Salaheddine Herrari, Yousri Bouzok, AbdelKahar Kadri and Aimen Bouguerra scored the goals for Paradou in a victory that looked comfortable in the end.
Teenage sensation Allan Okello grabbed KCCA’s only goal of the game, one that turned out to be a mare consolation in the end.
With high optimism coming into the game for Mike Mutebi’s side, all that was shattered inside the opening 7 minutes as a rampart Paradou side took the lead.
Herrari pounced onto a AbdelKader Ghorab cautioned header to poke home into the back of the net.
Against the run of play, Okello did his magic, cutting inside and firing in from just out side the area to level matters 15 minutes later.
With 8 minutes to the break, Kizza brought Herrari down inside the box and Bouzok converted the resultant penalty to restore the home side’s lead.
Paradou extended their lead in the 65th minute as Kadri pounced on a loose ball to nod home after goalkeeper Charles Lukwago had spilled a ferocious free kick into the path of the midfielder.
The Algerians then put the game to bed with Bouguerra firing in a free kick and seeing the score read 4-1.
KCCA had earlier had two chances to get back into the game but Sadat Anaku failed to connect with a Kizza free kick at the back post and the youngster then failed to find the target in a one on one situation with the goal keeper.
This is the second time running that KCCA FC fail to reach the group stages of the Confederations Cup after doing likewise last season.
For Paradou, they enter into the lucrative groups of the competition.
