KCCA FC vs Kyetume FC
StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo
Saturday, 23-11-2019 @4pm
LUGOGO – KCCA FC will be hoping to return to winning ways when they host Kyetume at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo on Saturday afternoon.
After winning five games in a row, Mike Mutebi’s side drew 1-1 with URA FC on Wednesday, a result that did not help their bid for a third consecutive title.
However, on Friday, leaders Vipers SC also drew 1-1 at Maroons and that should work as motivation for the Kasasiros going into the game against Kyetume.
“Like i said before the Vipers game, we are playing the remaining first round fixtures like they are all finals, noted KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi.
“We were disappointed that we did not win against URA FC but that is now behind us and we are gunning for three points against Kyetume.
“They (Kyetume) are a good side with several experienced players but i know we have quality to get past them especially at home.”
Speaking of quality, KCCA FC indeed posses loads of it. Following the return of Charles Lukwago, Nicholas Kasozi and Allan Okello, the Kasasiros will once again feature a near to full-strength side against the Slaughters.
Ahead of Saturday’s encounter, they have also been boosted by the return of long-term absentee Julius Poloto. Poloto has been out for close to a year but started training with the first team this week although he may not be risked on Saturday. Simon Sserunkuma has also resumed training after a brief lay-off. However, Mutebi will be without Jackson Nunda, Jurua Hassan, Sadam Juma, and Sadat Anaku are ruled out due to injury.
KCCA FC start the day still on course to ending the first round on top of the standings.
Currently, they sit 4th with 23 points, 11 behind leaders Vipers SC who have played five more games.
For Kyetume, after an ‘ok’ start to the league, things have taken a down-ward trend in the past couple of weeks.
They fired their head coach George Best Nsimbe and have lost all of their last threw games.
They currently sit 12th on the log with 16 points, just four above the relegation zone.
However, they have a few players they can bank on ahead of Saturday’s game. In Robert Ssentongo and Vincent Kayizi, they have two former KCCA FC players who have alot to prove after leaving Lugogo on a sad note.
Whether Ssentongo and Kayizi can inspire Kyetume past KCCA, remain to be seen.
