The Mosac rally slated for November 29th to 1st December in Kapeka, Nakaseke will be the last round on the national rally championship (NRC) calendar as well as the decider for who wins the title.
With a distance of 161.75km (competitive) and 126.30km (liaison), the drivers need to display their A-speed game in order to triumph over their opponents.
However, the 10 sections in Kalasa, Kaddunda, Industrial park and Kyamutakasa shall be a header between Yassin Nasser (415) points and Arthur Blick Jnr (385) points, the two fighting for the title.
Speaking at a press conference at Speke Hotel in Kampala, Mr. Ernest Musiime, the Federation for Motor Clubs of Uganda (FMU) Secretary thanked the promoters of the event who have pushed a lot to make it to where it is.
“This is going to be the last event on the calendar for National rally Championship. As you can see it is very tight and sensitive to the organisers since everyone is looking at it.” he remarked.
Mr. Shafic Matovu, the Clerk of the course, echoed that spectators this time around shall be kept in their positions and fast rescinding drivers shall be among the first 20 cars.
“We need to protect the time marshals who have been doing remarkable in making the sport fair and competitive though we have not done much to protect them in the past. This time we do not need anyone at the controls if they are not on duty. This is a very crucial event as the president and manager said, we want a very fair and competitive display without any excuses of people being cheated. The military shall be there as reinforcement so there should not be any worries.” he said.
The much anticipated finale has attracted sponsors that include; Coca Cola, Victoria University, Marine Time Cargo, Speke Hotels among others.
