BOMBO – Ndejje University and Kigezi Homeboyz played out a goalless draw on Thursday at the Arena of Vision in the StarTimes FUFA Big League.
It was the away side that looked better in a Cagey encounter, but Vialli Bainomugisha and his boys will have to thank the crossbar for ensuring the game ended goalless.
Ndejje were granted the opportunity to snatch victory in the 89th minute through a freekick, but the crossbar came to Kigezi’s rescue after goalkeeper Bruno Ochom who entered the referee’s book for time wasting and his defense were neatly beaten.
The hosts thought they’d gotten a penalty after Kigezi’s Ronald Buwembo fouled in the box but the referee blew for an earlier offence just outside the box hence the above free kick.
In open play, the Lions looked blunt upfront despite being the top scorers in Rwenzori group.
The result means both sides stay put- Ndejje second and Kigezi fourth- in the group.
Rwenzori group table toppers UPDF maintained their stay atop with a 2-2 draw against Kitara.
