Newcastle are vying to secure back-to-back Premier League victories over Manchester City for the first time since November 2003. They ended a 22-match winless run in this fixture with a 2-1 victory at St James’ Park in January.
It’s the first time in a decade that City have conceded as many as 14 league goals at this stage of a season. The reigning champions have conceded the first goal in each of their past three league games. They haven’t had a longer run since a five-match streak in March and April 2012. On average, Manchester City have faced a shot on target every 24 minutes in the Premier League this season – their worst ratio since 2010-11. City have scored in 17 successive Premier League away games, their third longest streak in the division. They are the division’s top scorers this season with 37 goals, and have only failed to score in one of their past 35 league fixtures. Riyad Mahrez has been directly involved in 10 goals in his 11 City starts in all competitions this season, scoring four and setting up six. He has scored 49 Premier League goals in his career.
Fit-again Newcastle defenders Fabian Schar and Florian Lejeune are under consideration to play, but DeAndre Yedlin is struggling with a hip injury.Matt Ritchie will not return until late January after having a second operation on the ankle he injured in August.
There will be at least one change for Manchester City from the side that beat Chelsea, with Sergio Aguero ruled out by a thigh injury. Oleksandr Zinchenko, Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane are long-term absentees.

Burnley midfielder Ashley Westwood is suspended after accumulating five yellow cards. His absence could mean that fit-again Danny Drinkwater is named in a match-day squad for the first time since August.
Crystal Palace defender Joel Ward will be out until the new year with a knee injury, so Martin Kelly is set to deputise at right-back. Centre-back Gary Cahill is a doubt because of a minor knee problem.
Crystal Palace have won three successive matches against Burnley, as many victories as in the previous 13 league meetings (D4, L6).

Chelsea will face West Ham without leading goalscorer Tammy Abraham, who was forced off at Valencia after landing awkwardly on his hip.Antonio Rudiger and Ross Barkley are back in training following lay-offs, while Callum Hudson-Odoi will also be monitored after a hamstring injury.
West Ham’s Issa Diop is banned after accumulating five cautions, while Jack Wilshere and Manuel Lanzini remain out. Third-choice goalkeeper David Martin could make his Premier League debut. Regular number one Lukasz Fabianski is still injured, and understudy Roberto has made several errors recently.
Chelsea are unbeaten in 13 league games at home to West Ham since a 3-2 defeat in September 2002 (W9, D4). The Hammers have won just one of their last seven league matches against the Blues (D3, L3), with that coming under David Moyes in December 2017.
Chelsea could win four consecutive home league games without conceding for the first time since a five-game streak from November 2014 to January 2015. This will be the Blues’ 250th Premier League game against London opposition (W128, D67, L54). Their 1.8 points-per-game ratio in London derbies is the best in the competition’s history. They have opened the scoring in 11 Premier League matches this season, more than any other side. Fewer than a third of Chelsea’s Premier League goals under Frank Lampard have been scored at home (nine of 28). Lampard won 13 of 19 Premier League games as a player against his former club West Ham, scoring seven times.
Liverpool vs Brighton

Liverpool have won the last seven meetings with Brighton in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and conceding just five. Brighton last beat Liverpool in 1984 in an FA Cup fourth-round tie at home. They have won just twice at Anfield – in the top flight in 1982 and the FA Cup fifth round in 1983. The opening goal in the past three league meetings has been scored by Mohamed Salah. The Reds won 1-0 home and away last season.
If Liverpool avoid defeat they will equal their longest unbeaten top-flight run of 31 games, set between May 1987 and March 1988. They are only the fourth side in English top-flight history to have as many as 37 points from their opening 13 league games to a season (adjusting to three points for a win). The Reds have won 12 Premier League matches this season, as many as Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham combined. Liverpool are on a club Premier League record run of 13 consecutive home victories since a 1-1 draw against Leicester City in January. Jurgen Klopp is unbeaten in his past 26 Premier League meetings with English managers (W22, D4), winning the last 16 in a row. Since the start of last season, Liverpool have scored an unrivalled 18 Premier League goals in the 85th minute or later. They could go 12 matches in all competitions without a clean sheet for the first time since February to April 1998 under Roy Evans.
Liverpool midfielder Fabinho is suspended, although he has been ruled out anyway until the New Year after injuring his ankle versus Napoli. Naby Keita missed that match due to illness but will return to the squad.
Brighton may be without Solly March, who is nursing a groin problem, but striker Aaron Connolly has recovered from a similar issue. Captain Lewis Dunk returns from the suspension which ruled him out of last Saturday’s defeat by Leicester.

Tottenham have confirmed defender Ben Davies will be out for an “extended period” because of the ankle injury he suffered against West Ham.Erik Lamela, Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm remain on the sidelines.
Bournemouth’s Josh King is again absent due to a hamstring problem, while Ryan Fraser is a doubt with a dead leg. Simon Francis and Philip Billing are both suspended, but Dominic Solanke has been given the all-clear after a scan on his hamstring.
Tottenham have won all four of their Premier League home games against Bournemouth by an aggregate score of 13-0. The top-flight record for most away fixtures versus the same opponent without ever scoring is five, set by Cardiff (at Leeds), Bolton and Derby (both at Luton). The most recent meeting, in May, ended with Bournemouth earning their first league win over Spurs at the eighth attempt.
Spurs are aiming for back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time this season. They have kept just one clean sheet this season, the fewest of any top-flight side. The last time they had only one clean sheet after the opening 13 league games of a campaign was in 2012-13. Only West Ham and Norwich have faced more shots on target in the Premier League this season than Spurs. Their tally of 76 equates to 5.8 shots on target per game, Tottenham’s highest in a Premier League season since such statistics were first recorded in 2002-03. The only managers or head coaches to win their opening two Premier League matches in charge of Tottenham were Glenn Hoddle and Mauricio Pochettino.

Southampton midfielder Sofiane Boufal is expected to miss Saturday’s game after stubbing his toe at home.Stuart Armstrong has been ruled out because of a hamstring problem but Jannik Vestergaard is in contention following illness.
Craig Dawson is Watford’s latest defensive casualty, having needed stitches in a head wound last weekend. Roberto Pereyra has overcome a thigh strain but might not start. Christian Kabasele, Daryl Janmaat, Sebastian Prodl, Tom Cleverley, Danny Welbeck and Daniel Bachmann remain out.
