Wakiso Giants FC vs Busoga United FC
Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakissha
Friday, 08-11-2019 @4pm
Wakiso Giants FC have undergone a trying period in the last few weeks in the Uganda Premier League.
After a fairly good start to the season, the Purple Sharks have lost all their last three games and as a consequence, moved closer to the relegation zone.
They currently sit 11th on the log, just three points above the last relegation spot.
At the start of the week, they fired head coach Kefa Kisala and put Steven Bengo temporarily in charge of the team.
Bengo was in charge of their last game which ended in a 1-0 loss away to Vipers SC.
The result may have read 1-0 but did not potry what happened on the field of play as Wakiso was dominated from the word go and could have conceded four or five goals.
Ahead of Friday’s game, Bengo has promised an improved show, one that the Wakiso faithful shall indeed welcome with open arms.
“We want to build on our performance at Vipers, Bengo stated.
“Everyone is aware of the importance of this fixture and am confident of victory.”
Wakiso head into the game with brahim Kiyemba and Duncan Sseninde available for selection after missing the game against their parent side Vipers SC. However, Tom Masiko, Ayub Kisaliita and Yasin Mugume are ruled out through injury although the trio is back in training. Kirizestom Ntambi, Viane Ssekajugo and Aggrey Madoi are also doubtful for the fixture and could need a late fitness test to feature and so is Hassan Ssenyonjo.
Just like Wakiso, Busoga United have also been in poor form of late.
Abby Kikomeko’s side have lost their last two games, losing to both Vipers SC and Kyetume FC.
Currently, Busoga sits 6th on the log and know victory will see them leap-frog Maroons in 5th.
However, to get the points, they will need the duo of Borban Zirintusa and Joel Madondo to be at their absolute best upfront.
