Uganda Premier League
Police FC vs Kyetume FC
StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo
Friday, 17-01-2020 @1pm
LUGOGO – Police FC are the most in-form side in the Uganda Premier League currently.
The Cops who were at one point one of the favourites for relegation have gained momentum, winning four and drawing the other of their past five games.
Their tally of 13 points in 5 games cannot be matched by any other club in the division.
Abdallah Mubiru’s side will be hoping to continue in the same vain when they host Kyetume FC at the StarTimes Stadium on Friday afternoon.
The match will be played at lunchtime because there is another game in the evening with KCCA FC taking on Tooro United FC at the same venue.
Having humiliated Express FC 6-1 at the same venue on Wednesday, the Cops will be favourites going into the contest.
However they know that they need not to get complacent as things can take a dramatic twist come game time.
“We are in good form currently but we should not take the foot off the gas pedal, said Police FC head coach Abdallah Mubiru ahead of the game.
“We are on the right course but things can change in an instant and we go on a run of poor results which will see us drop back into the drop zone.
“Against Kyetume, we take on a very experienced side and we will need to be on our guard for the entire 90 minutes.”
Kyetume will come to Lugogo desperate for Points as their form has dipped in the recent past.
After climbing as high as sixth at some point in the first round, the Slaughters are now currently 13th, just a point away from the relegation zone.
Without victory in their last six games is a situation they know that they need to put right as soon as possible so as to avoid the dog-fight.
Their last fixture is one that will surely have disappointed them as they failed to beat up on a limping Tooro United side, drawing 1-1 in the end despite taking the lead inside 7 minutes.
Against a Police FC side that usually gives you a chance to score, Kyetume will be confident they can upset the odds.
