-Katwe United vs Proline FC @Lugogo
-Star Light vs Tooro United FC @Amuria
-Kiryadongo Town Council vs Kigezi HomeBoyz @Kiryadongo
Proline FC and Tooro United will be relieved the Uganda Premier League (UPL) takes a week-long break as attention shifts to the Cup.
The sides occupy the last two spot on the UPL table with Proline rock-bottom while Tooro are 15th.
They will both be in action in the most prestigious cup competition in the country, away from home.
Proline are the defending champions of the competition following a penalty shootout victory over Bright Stars in last year’s final.
Having been in the Big League at the time, Proline made history as they became the first lower tier side to win the competition in its long history.
However, defending it looks ever increasingly difficult as the Lugogo based side are expected to put emphasis on trying to stay in the top flight this season.
With the league returning next week, it remains to be seen the players Proline head coach Anthony Bongoole will put out against Katwe on Tuesday.
Katwe too have issues to worry about in the Big League where they play their league football.
The ‘Tuli Banyivu’ side are currently bottom of the Elgon Group with just five points from 8 matches and they know they need to get off to a good start when the Big League second round starts next month.
However, shocking Proline in their round of 32 clash may be the momentum they need to kick-start their bid to fend off relegation back to the regional league.
In Amuria, limping Tooro United will also be in action away to Star Light.
Tooro have had to endure a troubled start to the season and sit just a spot off the base of the Uganda Premier League.
However, their last two results in the league have given them hope.
They drew 1-1 at Kyetume before they gave a good account of themselves in the 1-0 loss away to KCCA FC last Friday.
Still without upto 15 first team players, the Car Dealers will have to do with a new-look squad for Tuesday’s game.
However, current head coach Muhammad Kiseka is optimistic they will progress to the next round.
“We have a chance to register a victory for the first time this year, noted Kiseka ahead of the game.
“We have been in a transformation period of late but have been improving in terms of performance.
“The game against Star Light is one we will be looking forward to as we need momentum to take into the league.”
Tooro will be favourites to reach the last 32 and anything but victory on Tuesday will be more disaster to the club.
The other game on Tuesday will see Kigezi HomeBoyz away to Kiryadongo Town Council at the Kiryandongo Church of Uganda Grounds.
