Mbarara City FC vs Wakiso Giants FC
Bombo Barracks Stadium, Bombo
Wednesday, 15-01-2020 @4pm
Mbarara City FC will host Wakiso Giants FC at the Bombo Barracks Stadium in one of the four Uganda Premier League games to be played on Wednesday afternoon.
Both sides lost their second-round opening games and will be desperate for points come game time.
Mbarara lost 1-0 away to KCCA FC 7 days ago in a game they gave a got account of themselves, especially in the first half.
This will be their first at Bombo Barracks Stadium after their customary home in Kakyeka was deemed unfit to host UPL games.
After winning all their last three first-round games prior to the KCCA FC defeat, Mbarara will be optimistic they can get a point off a Wakiso Giants side that does not perform well away from home.
For Wakiso, they were disappointing last week as they went down 2-1 at home to Police FC.
It was a game that saw them concede as early as the second minute and they will be looking to avoid a similar scenario on Wednesday.
What they are saying ahead of the game
Viane Ssekajugo Wakiso Giants FC forward
“We are prepared for the task ahead of us.
“We lost against a Police but that’s now behind us.
“What matters is how you bounce back and am confident we shall do so with a win.”
Ibrahim Kiyemba Wakiso Giants FC defender
“It’s a normal game and we go into it without pressure.
“We have corrected our mistakes from the previous game and I believe we shall win it.
“I call upon all our fans to come in large numbers and be behind us.”
The Purple Sharks will see Tom Masiko returning to the team after a long injury lay off. Kirizestom Ntambi remains out and so is new signing Geriga Atendele whose paperwork has delayed his debut.
