Vipers SC have appointed Fred Kajoba as their new head coach.
Kajoba replaces Edward Golola who was sacked last week following the Venoms’ humiliating exit from the Uganda Cup at the hands of Kajjansi United.
It is believed that Kajoba has signed a short term deal that will expire at the end of this season.
He was unveiled by Vipers on Sunday morning during a press conference at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
Kajoba who has been out of a coaching role since he was fired at Bright Stars FC, will take charge with immediate effect and will be joined by Ibrahim Mugisha as goalkeeping coach, working alongside Edward Ssali as the trainer.
The 50-year-old met the players at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday morning before undertaking his first training ahead of Tuesday’s Uganda Premier League match against Mbarara City FC.
Speaking a his unveiling, Kajoba said that he was excited to be joining the Venoms and promised to win the League this season.
“I am excited to be joining one of the biggest clubs in the country and it is where it should be at the moment, he said.
“I am sure we can still go on and win this season’s title.”
“I am looking forward to working with the players and staff at this great club.”
Vipers SC currently lead the UPL by four points.
