BUL FC vs Wakiso Giants FC
FUFA Technical Center, Njeru
Wednesday, 29-01-2020
Wakiso Giants FC will be hoping to rub more salt into the wounds of BUL FC when the two sides face off at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru on We Wednesday afternoon.
The Jinja based side have started the second round poorly and need to start gathering momentum as soon as possible.
They have lost all their opening threw second round games, going down to Bright Stars FC, URA and Maroons.
Like that is not enough, they were last week eliminated from the Uganda Cup by lower tier Mvara.
This prompted a change in management as Peter Onen was fired along with his technical team.
Onen has since been replaced with Arthur Kyesimira who returns to the club for the second time having served as an assistant to Kefa Kisala four years ago.
Kyesimira’s task will be to steady a ship that at one point looked to be on course to their highest finish when they sat second in the table after eight games.
They start the day in 6th with 29 points, a tally that was all impressively accumulated in the first round.
As Bul are struggling, Wakiso look to hae turned the corner in the past few weeks.
After losing their opening two second round games, the Purple Sharks have now won twice on the trot.
They defeat Onduparaka FC 1-0 in the league and also progressed to the Uganda Cup round of 32 Courtesy of a 2-0 victory away to Bugoigo last week.
With momentum now in their favour, Wakiso will fancy their chances of walking away with all three points on Wednesday.
However, their assistant coach Baker Kasule anticipates a tough challenge.
“We expect a tough game against wounded lions and with a new coach, noted Kasule.
“They will have to prove a point. But we are positive and hope to build on the previous two performances to garner all points.”
Wakiso have been sweating over the fitness of youngster Hassan Ssenyonjo who got a knock in the win at Buliisa. He will be a subject to late fitness before the green light is given. New signings Geriga Atendele and Gadafi Wahab could feature if their license issues are sorted in time. Captain Yasin Mugabi is still out and will not feature.
