Uganda Premier League
Maroons FC vs Tooro United FC
Luzira Prisons Stadium, Luzira
Friday, 31-01-2020 @4:30pm
Maroons FC will host Tooro United FC in one of the two Uganda Premier League games slatted for Friday.
The hosts are coming off a defeat to Bright Stars FC in their last game and are not happy with the manner in which it came about.
Drawing 1-1 with a minute to play, Bright Stars FC were awarded a controversial penalty which was converted by captain Sula Sebunza.
Having lost in such a manner, the Prisons’ side will be desperate to avenge for that defeat against Tooro in Luzira.
It is a perfect game for them to return to winning ways as Tooro have been struggling since the season started.
Having appointed Muhammad Kiseka at the start of the second round, the Car Dealers are yet to see their fortunes change, losing twice and drawing the other of their three games since the former Bright Stars FC tactician took over.
However, they held URA FC to a 1-1 draw with Charles Musiige scoring the equalizer.
That result must have upped Tooro’s emotions and will go into the game with some degree of optimism.
Experienced defender Mike Kawooya returned to the team and will once again be expected to lead Tooro on Friday.
However, he is the only senior player among the 15 who went AWOL due to unpaid wages, who will be available once again.
