
KAMPALA – Express FC have parted ways with George Ssemwogerere as their head coach.
This was confirmed on Tuesday morning through a statement released by the club.
“The head coach of Express FC George Ssemwogerere has departed the club, as of today, after mutual agreement with the Express SC Board. Reads the statement
“On behalf of the Express FC, i thank coach Sim and outgoing members of his Technical team for the work done. We wish them the best in their future endeavours.”
Ssemwogerere took over as Express head coach in February 2019, replacing Kefa Kisala.
However, his reign has always been criticized by fans and media a situation that pointed to his imminent departure.
At the time of his departure, Express are 13th on the Uganda Premier League log with 21 points from 10 games.
It has also been confirmed by the club that Wasswa Bbosa will take over the head coaching role.

“Coach Richard Wasswa Bbosa shall forthwith take over as head coach of Express FC. Welcome coach Bbosa and the new Technical Team. Continued the statement.
This is a second return to the club for Bbosa who was assistant to Sam Simbwa as the Red Eagles won their last league title in 2013.
He first returned to the club before joining SC Villa in 2016.
Bbosa has been out of work since leaving Tooro United FC at the start of the season, sighting poor working conditions.
It is rumoured that Bbosa will be deputized by Express FC legend James Odoch.
Express’s next fixture will be away to Onduparaka FC on Friday.
