Nantes vs PSG
Stade de la Beaujoire
Tuesday, 04-02-2020 @11:05pm
PSG have won each of their last nine away games with 29 goals scored along the way and just three conceded. Nantes have lost five of their last seven games with eight conceded in their last three. Nantes have beaten PSG just once since 2004.
Nantes were on the wrong side of a crazy match on Friday as they lost to Rennes despite leading going into the 95th minute. It was a bitter defeat to their local rivals and another blow for the Canaries as they have now lost five of their last seven matches in all competitions. They have only managed to beat fifth-term Aviron Bayonnais and 14th place Saint-Étienne in this time and will be in with another difficult challenge here against PSG.
Nantes’ home form has been waning as of late with defeats coming in each of their last four games at the Stade de la Beaujoire. They’ve conceded eight goals in this time and failed to score twice, against relatively beatable sides Strasbourg and Bordeaux. Christian Gourcuff needs to be careful that his side don’t begin to fall off the tracks but PSG won’t help that as the Canaries have only beaten the capital club once since 2004.
Paris will be looking at these statistics with a big grin as they look to put a few past another Ligue 1 club. Montpellier were the latest victims of Thomas Tuchel’s battalion at the weekend as they dispatched of la Paillade 5-0 without much, if any, resistance. It was a tremendous performances from the Parisians and one they’ll be hoping to echo here.
The visitors have now won 17 of their last 19 matches in all competitions with draws to Real Madrid and Monaco being the only understandable hiccups along the way. Apart from that they have been in typical form with 62 goals scored and just eleven conceded in the process.
Away from home Tuchel’s men have also been considerably impressive with wins in each of their last nine games on the road and just three conceded, one of which was an own goal. Their defence has rightly earned them a lot of praise and it could be in full throttle here again as it aims to shutout one of France’s worst attacks.
Nantes will be with out Dennis Appiah, Roli Pereira De Sa, Kalifa Coulibaly, Nicolas Pallois, Fabio da Silva and Marcus Coco who are all injured.
For PSG, Neymar Jr Colin Dagba, Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Adil Aouchiche and Juan Bernat are injured.
