Mbarara City FC will host a Uganda Premier League game at Kakyeka Stadium for the first time in the second when they take on Police FC on Friday.
The Ankole Lions have been moving from one ground to another and this will be the second time they return to Kakyeka this campaign.
They first hosted game at Luzira Prison’s grounds before going to Kakyeka for the last four games of the first round.
However, they were forced to go to Bombo Barracks Stadium for the first two games of the second round.
On Wednesday, it was confirmed that Kakyeka was once again cleared and Mbarara will now return to the only place they term as ‘home’.
Brian Ssenyondo’s side have been extremely good at home of late regardless of where they host their games.
They have not lost in any of their last six home fixtures, winning four and drawing the other two.
With Kakyeka a fortresses of sorts, Mbarara will be fancying their chances against a Police side that are usually poor on the road.
Abdallah Mubiru’s side come into the game with just three victories away from home last season.
They have also lost on both of their last two travels.
The main issue for the Cops is letting into many goals while on the road.
In their last 8 games in all competition, they have let it 17 goals which is an average of over two goals per game.
Having not yet secured their league status, Police knows they may soon be dragged into the relegation battle.
Currently they are on a three match winless run losing two and drawing once.
Going into Friday’s game, Mubiru is hopeful their fortunes away from home will change.
“We do not usually play as well as we do when we are at home, noted Mubiru.
“It is a situation that we ant to sort as soon as we can and i am optimistic we will soon get it right.
“We take on a side that are strong at their hoke but we know what we must do so as to get all three points.”
