
MBARARA — Budding rally driver Rajiv Ruparelia has on Sunday, February 16 retired from the Rukaari-Lake Mburo Mbarara Rally, after a technical fault.
Rajiv, driving under his RR Double Trouble tag had shown intent on day one with an impressive performance, emerging the front runner.
In a Volkswagen Polo Proto, Rajiv and his navigator Enock Olinga posted the fasted times on the opening day of the season within 13 minutes, 17 seconds and 74 microseconds.
Ponsiano Lwakataka came second, 13 seconds behind Rajiv and Duncan Mubiru completed the top three and was 38 seconds behind day one leader.

His team, in a statement on Sunday saluted the fans, organisers and sponsors, as one of the most exciting drivers what they termed a well “organised rally”.
Winners were to be announced on Sunday.
