Tooro United FC will be desperate to register victory when they host Wakiso Giants FC on Wednesday.
Muhammad Kiseka’s side have gone nine league games minus victory ever since they defeated Mbarara City FC on 3rd November 2019.
Since the second round, they have gathered just two points in five games, drawing 1-1 with both URA FC and Maroons FC.
That poor run of form has seen them drop into the relegation zone with just 16 points accumulated in 20 games.
With time running out, Kiseka and his charges know that they need to start winning or else, may suffer a first ever relegation back into the second tier.
However, Kiseka is optimistic his side will start winning games again and avoid the drop in the end.
“Leave alone the points we lost in the boardroom, but you have seen the improvement of late, noted Kiseka.
“We have lost only one game on the pitch which was an away game against KCCA where we also had a good performance, so we hope to win games because we have a fighting spirit and i know we are going to survive.”
In five second round games, the Car Dealers have lost to Onduparaka and Kyetume on top of the 1-0 defeat to KCCA FC.
The Onduparaka and Kyetume defeats were in the boardroom after Tooro failed ro produce licensed players and used one who was ineligible, respectively.
The team has been troubled for huge spells in the season and are yet to sort everything.
Most of their new players are yet to acquire licenses and may miss a few on Wednesday.
For Wakiso, they have also been average since the start of the season.
In their five second round games so far, they have gathered just five points.
However, they have not lost any of their last three, winning one and drawing the other two.
Their last game was the 1-1 draw at home to Bright Stars FC.
The game on Wednesday will be the second ever meeting between Wakiso and Tooro with the first ending in a 1-0 victory for the Purple Sharks courtesy of a Viane Sekajugo second half goal.
