
Katwe United FC have secured the signature of former Uganda Cranes striker Tony Odur.
Odur is understood to have penned a four months deal at the Katwe based side that will see him at the club until May.
His signing was announced on Saturday by the Big League side.
“Katwe United FC has signed striker Tony Odur from top league side Express FC on a half season deal. He will be with the team till the end of this season. Reads a statement by Katwe.
Odur has been without a club since he was let go by Express FC last year following the expiration of his contract.
He has previously featured for Bunamwaya FC (Vipers SC) and KCCA FC.
Odur also had a professional stint with Zambian side Nkana Red Devils in 2014.
He was a consistent figure in the Cranes squad in the early years of the past century, winning two CECAFA titles and also featuring in the CHAN 2009 qualifiers.
The striker has in the past been an efficient goal scorer, winning the Uganda Premier League golden boot on two occasions.
The first came in 2009/10 when he scored 21 goals for Bunamwaya while the second was at KCCA FC in the 2014/15 campaign.
He joins a Katwe United side that is desperate for inspiration having finished bottom of the Elgon group in the first round of the 2019/20 Big League campaign.
