Uganda Cup – Round of 32
Kansai Plascon vs Tooro United FC
Bishop SS, Mukono
Tuesday, 11-02-2020 @4pm
Tooro United FC have had a season to remember and they can be forgiven for wanting it to end as soon as possible.
After finishing 3rd in the 2018/19 campaign, the Car Dealers have struggled on and off the pitch.
From coaches, players and other key personnel departing to being docked of points, that has been Tooro United.
However, they have a chance to smile at the end of it if they can somehow go all the way and win a first ever Uganda Cup.
On Tuesday, they are away to Kansai Plascon at the Bishop SS Grounds in Mukono hoping to reach the round of 16.
However, they have a few injury concerns that they will need to overcome in case they are to get the job done.
Captain Willy Kavuma is still out with an ankle issue while top scorer Yafesi Mubiru is also injured. Mubiru was injured in the 2-1 victory over Wakiso Giants FC last week, after scoring both goals.
The only good news coming out of the treatment room is that Charles Musiige and second-choice custodian Michael Nantamu are fit for the game after overcoming injury and illness.
Speaking ahead of the game, Tooro head coach Muhammed Kiseka side that his team are eyeing victory after improving by each passing game.
“We are in good shape ahead of the Cup game, noted Kiseka.
“We want to win the game and i am confident we will because we have been improving by each passing game.”
Tooro United have been improving by the day indeed.
After losing six and drawing one in seven games, they have now gone four minus tasting defeat (W2 D2).
One of those victories came against Star Light as Kiseka’s side progressed to the round of 32 off a 3-2 victory.
The other was in their last outing, taking care of Wakiso Giants FC 2-1 in Fortportal.
Last season, their Cup run ended in a 4-2 penalty loss to Wakiso at the round of 16.
For Kansai Plascon, they are hoping to cause an upset.
The Big League side defeated Soroti FC 4-0 in the previous round.
Tuesday’s other fixtures will see Wakiso Giants FC at home to MYDA while defending champions Proline FC welcome Admin FC at Lugogo.
