Bright Stars FC vs Mbarara City FC
Kavumba Recreation Grounds, Wakiso
Wednesday, 04-03-2020 @4:30pm
Bright Stars FC have been the surprise of the second half of the season so far.
After struggling and winning only one game in the first round, the Stars have seen their form take a positive turn.
Since the turn of the year, they have won 7 of their 11 outings in all competitions with 6 of those victories coming in the league.
As a consequence, they have climbed out of the relegation zone and now sit mid-table.
At the fore-front of that emphatic turn around is Paul Kiwanuka, a man that replaced Muhammad Kiseka in November.
Kiwanuka was worked his magic and is hoping that run of results continues.
“We have been blessed with a good run of results recently and it is something we would like to continue with, noted Kiwanuka ahead of the game against Mbarara City on Wednesday.
“The players are in good spirits and working with them everyday, i see they are always hungry for more victories.
“We will be hoping to win as many games as possible so as to finish in the best spot possible.”
Despite the good run of form, Bright Stars heads into Wednesday’s encounter on the back of a 2-1 loss at SC Villa last week.
The defeat to the Jogoos was just their second since the turn of thw year with the other coming at the hands of URA FC on January 18.
Bright Stars’ opponents Mbarara City will be hoping to make it two victories in as many games.
The Ankole Lions powered past BUL FC in their last game thanks to a Hilary Mukundane free kick.
This was a welcome victory for Brian Ssenyondo’s side who had gone two games minus winning, losing 3-4 to Kyetume FC and drawing 1-1 with Ondiparaka FC.
With Bright Stars looking good and Mbarara coming off a victory, it will be some contest at Njeru.
