Just days after making a massive donation, Betway Uganda are at it again.
The Betting giants who donated 3,300 kilograms of Rice to the COVID-19 National task force and USPA on Tuesday, have now handed a 4,000 USD relief to three clubs in the country.
The money is understood to be financial support for the clubs during this trying period as their is no sporting action taking place in the country because of the Coronavirus.
Express FC (football), Betway Power (Basketball) and Betway Kobs (Rugby)are the three clubs that will be sharing the 4000 USD, which is approximately UGX 15m.
Each of the three clubs is a partner to Betway and will pocket Shs 5m off the package.
Express FC CEO Junju Hamza claims the gesture is a great push for the club.
“As a club, we extend our appreciation to Betway for the gesture,” Jjunju noted as quoted by Football256.
“This is a great push and an addition to what Express FC has been extending to players.
“This goes a long way in making sure players have enough especially at their homes.
“It will also help in creating comfort for them to easily follow guidelines already outlined by the government to stay home and be safe.”
Despite the on-going Coronavirus, Express is understood to have resolved to continue payment of their players and staff.
With the club currently almost earning nothing from football, Betway’s boost will indeed by a welcome boost to the side.
