Express FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa is set to sign a new contract with the Red Eagles.
Bbosa replaced George Ssemwogerere at the start of the February 2020, signing a short term deal that was set to expire at the end of the current season.
Before the season took a break at the start of March, the former SC Villa and Tooro United FC tactician had taken charge of five league games and a Uganda Cup round of 32 contest.
In his opening six games, he won three, drew once and lost the other two (including a penalty shootout defeat to Maroons in the cup).
The decent league form saw the Red Eagles climb out of the relegation zone and into 9th, 7 point above 14th placed Maroons.
Despite the uncertainty revolving around the league due to the growing Corona Virus threat, reliable sources at Wankulukuku indicate Bbosa will be handed a new contract that will see him take charge of Express FC for the nest two seasons.
It was earlier communicated that the Uganda Premier League are hoping resume the season as soon as the Corona Virus threat is contained.
The season still had five match-days left after each team had played 25 of their 30 games.
Express’s last five fixtures include four home fixtures against Wakiso Giants FC, Vipers SC, BUL FC and Kyetume FC plus an away duel at Bright Stars FC.
The Red Eagles faithful is eyeing a top six finish that will ensure they qualify for the 2020 FUFA Super 8 tournament.
