Buruli have announced a squad of 17 players set to represent them at this year’s Masaza Cup.
This comes at a time when there are growing concerns that football may not return in the near future despite organizers of the Masaza Cup anticipating late June as kick-off period.
During the latest Presidential address on the Covid-19 pandemic, sport was once again not mentioned indicating that it is yet to be thought about.
Despite the concerns, teams continue to beef up preparations for the 16th edition of the competition and Buluri is no exception.
Buluri who will be under the experienced Noah Mugerwa announced a squad which includes one goalkeeper, four defenders, eight midfielders and four forwards.
It is understood that this is not the conclusive list of players as Buluri are still scouting for other players to beef up the team.
The one-time winners of the competition have under-performed in the last few years and will he seeking to put that right this time round.
Ever since winning their only title in 2011, Buluri are yet to feature in the final once again.
Gomba are the record winners of the competition having won it on four separate occasions.
Bulemezi are the defending champions after defeating Busiro in last year’s final played at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
