The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) President Moses Magogo finally came good on his promise to KCCA FC players.
Magogo promised the Kasasiro Boys a cash rewards if they won the 2019 CECAFA Cup.
As fate would have it, they defeated Tanzanian side Azam FC 1-0 in the final courtesy of a Mustapha Kizza goal at the Stade Kigali.
Magogo who is also a CAF Executive Committee member took his time to reward them.
It is understood that Magogo gave a sum of USD 20,000 to the players who shared it equally.
However, the technical team led by head coach Mike Mutebi is believed to have missed out on the reward.
The reward comes at a time when FUFA is believed to have received USD 500,000 (Shs1.9b) from FIFA which is a Covid-19 relief fund released to each of their 211 member associations.
Whether Magogo tapped into the Federation’s pocket to relieve himself of the debt, remains to be seen but it comes as a coincidence that he pays up after receiving the money from FIFA.
