KAMPALA – Express FC are intent on having a good 2020/21 season.
The Red Eagles who finished 9th last season have their sights set on a top four finish next campaign and a decent run in the Cup.
Having secured head coach, Wasswa Bbosa, to a three year deal at the start of the month, they are understood to be on a recruitment spree.
Reports coming in indicate that they are in talks with two SC Villa players and Kyetume’s custodian Joel Mutakubwa.
The Villa players in question are midfielder David Owori and forward Ambrose Kirya.
Owori and Kirya were integral in the Jogoos’ third place finish with the latter finishing with a club high-7 goals.
For Owori, he picked up multiple man-of-the-match awards as he put up several eye-catching performances throughout the season.
Mutakubwa on the other hand is a seasoned performer and currently part of the Uganda Cranes set up.
He worked with Bbosa at Tooro United FC and this would be the second time the duo is teaming up.
If Express can indeed capture the trio, their squad will be boosted a great deal.
The Red Eagles are also believed to be on the verge of signing Tooro United’s trio of Godfrey Lwesibawa, Charles Musiige and John Byamukama.
