The only goal of the game was scored by Casemiro at the stroke of halftime, ensuring Real stay top with 71 points, two ahead of Barcelona who could only manage a 2-2 draw away to Celta Vigo the day before.
Third placed Atletico Madrid got a breather after defeating Deportivo Alaves 2-1 on Saturday to create a four point gap between themselves and Sevilla who only drew 1-1 against Valladolid on Friday.
In the rest of the action, Bilbao beat Mallorca 3-1, Osasuna were 2-1 winners at home to Leganes, Levante defeated Betis 4-2, Villarreal powered past Valencia 2-0 while Eibar registered a rare 2-1 win away to Granada.
On Monday, Getafe hosts Real Sociedad in the final match-day 32 La Liga Fixture.
In Italy, Juventus maintained their four-point lead at the top of Serie A following a 4-0 thrashing of Lecce on Friday. Paulo Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain and Matheus de Ligt were all on the score sheet for the Old Lady.

Second placed Lazio were also victorious on the weekend, coming from behind to defeat Fiorentina 2-1 on Saturday.
Inter Milan who occupy third scrapped past Parma 2-1 while Atalanta remained fourth after overcoming Udinese 3-2.
The other fixtures saw Brescia drew 2-2 with Genoa, Cagliari beat Torino 4-2, AC Milan defeated Roma 2-0, Bologna scrapped to a 2-1 away victory against Sampdoria, Napoli overcame SPAL 3-1 while Sassuolo shared spoils with Hellas Verona in an entertaining 3-3 draw.
In England, the FA Cup dominated the headline with Arsenal, Man United, Chelsea and Man City all winning their games to reach the semi finals.
Man United required extra time to overcome Norwich City 2-1, Dani Ceballos scored his first goal for Arsenal as they scrapped past Sheffield United 2-1, Ross Barkley scored the only goal in Chelsea’s victory over Leicester City while Man City beat Newcastle United 2-0.

The semi finals will see Arsenal take on Man City while Man United faces Chelsea.
In the Premier league’s only two fixtures this weekend, Wolves overcame relegation bound Aston Villa 1-0 while Southampton were 3-1 winners at Watford.
In Germany, Bayern ended the season on a high with a 4-0 victory away to Wolfsburg, Dortmund was humiliated 4-0 at home to Hoffenheim, Monchengladbach sealed a Champions League spot following a 2-1 win against Hertha Berlin, RB Leipzig beat Augsburg 2-1 while Leverkusen scrapped to a 1-0 victory over Mainz.

The other weekend’s Bundesliga results saw Frankfurt power past Paderborn 3-2, Bremen secured a relegation playoff spot after humiliating Koln 6-1, Freiburg thrashed Schalke 4-0 while Union Berlin condemned Dusseldorf to the drop following a 3-0 victory.
