Deportivo Alaves vs Granada
Estadio de Mendizzoroza, Vitori-Gastiez
Wednesday, 02-07-2020 @8:30pm
Alaves have only lost four of their 16 home games. Granada have dropped points in 13 of their 16 away games.
Wednesday’s hosts lost 2-1 away at Atletico Madrid last time out and sit 9pts and two places above the relegation zone. Granada also lost 2-1 over the weekend when they played host to Eibar and occupy 10th spot in the La Liga table.
Granada hammered Alaves 3-0 when the pair met back in December for their reverse league fixture, with the visitors ending the game with 9-men following the dismissals of Wakaso and Laguardia in the second half.
Granada head into Wednesday’s latest encounter with Alaves as the form favourites, with one win, three draws and two defeats from their last six matches, but haven’t travelled well this season and go up against an Alaves side with a good home record.
Alaves have secured seven wins and five draws from 16 home games this season, only losing in their own backyard on four occasions so far.
Granada have already dropped points in 13 of their 16 away games this season, losing eight times, drawing on five occasions and only winning three matches on their travels.
The visitors are already safe in mid-table but a win for Alaves on Wednesday’s would practically end any realistic chances of the home side getting relegated this season, meaning that the motivation for the 3pts leans more towards Alaves than Granada this week.
Valencia vs Athletic Bilbao
Estadio Mestalla, Valencia
Wednesday, 02-07-2020@8:30pm
Valencia lost 2-0 at Villarreal last time out and sit 8th in the La Liga table, while Athletic Bilbao ran out 3-1 winners at home to Mallorca and closed the gap on Valencia to a single point in the process.
Valencia claimed all 3pts when these two sides last met back in September thanks to a first-half effort from Cheryshe, but Athletic Bilbao head into Wednesday’s latest encounter between the two clubs as the form favourites.
The visitors have won three, drawn two and lost one of their last six league games while Valencia have lost four times during that period, picking up one win and one draw.
Four of Atheltic Bilbao’s last six league games have produced goals at both ends of the pitch. Both teams have also scored in 62% of the hosts’ home matches this season as well as in 62% of the visitors’ away games.
Valencia have scored in all of their home games so far this season and Athletic Bilbao have only kept clean sheets in 19% of their away games.
Valencia don’t have form in their favour but they are unbeaten at home this season, drawing seven of their 16 matches, while Athletic Bilbao have only won twice on their travels and have drawn eight of their 16 away games.
Both teams have scored in four of Athletic Bilbao’s last six matches. Both teams have scored in 62% of Valencia’s home games. Both teams have scored in 62% of Athletic Bilbao’s away games. Valencia have drawn seven of their 16 home games and Athletic Bilbao have drawn eight of their 16 away trips.
Real Betis vs Villarreal
Estadio Benito Villamarin, Seville
Wednesday, 02-07-2020 @11pm
Real Betis suffered a 4-2 defeat at Levante on Sunday and remain in the bottom half of the La Liga table, while Villarreal maintained their good form with a 2-0 win at home against Valencia and now sit 4pts behind Sevilla in 5th place.
September’s reverse league fixture between these two clubs produced six goals, including a brace for Toko Ekambi, as hosts Villarreal claimed a 5-1 win.
Betis went in 1-0 down at the break but equalised through Emerson early in the second half, only to see Villarreal dominate the match and stroll to a comfortable 3pts.
The last five encounters between Betis and Villarreal have all produced over 2.5 goals as have a massive 81% of Betis’s home games and 69% of the visitors’ away trips this season.
Both teams have scored in 88% of Betis’s home games as well as in 69% of Villarreal’s away matches, with the hosts’ home games producing an average of 3.31 total goals and the guests’ away trips producing an average of 2.56 total goals.
Real Valladolid vs Levante
Estadio Municipal Jose Zorilla, Valladolid
Wednesday, 02-07-2020 @11pm
Real Valladolid claimed a decent point away at high-flying Sevilla with the game ending in a 1-1 draw while Levante were involved in a six-goal thriller at home to Real Betis where they ran out 4-2 winners, which means that the gap between the two clubs was extended to 6pts.
The last time these two teams met, back in August 2019, Levante secured all 3pts in their own backyard thanks to a couple of late goals from Leon and Morales.
Wednesday’s visitors might claim the title of form favourites, with two wins, three draws and one defeat from their last six matches, but Valladolid don’t lose many games in their own backyard and the visitors have been poor on their travels this season.
There is good reason to expect goals at both ends of the pitch on Wednesday when you look at the recent performances of both sides, with both teams scoring in four of Valladolid’s and five of Levante’s last six league outings.
This season 53% of Real Valladolid’s home games have seen both teams score and the same can be said for 69% of Levante’s away trips. The hosts have only kept clean sheets in 33% of their home games and the visitors are yet to keep a single clean sheet on their travels, so you can see why we are expecting goals for both sides on Wednesday.
