KAMPALA – Tooro United FC have on August 12 unveiled Edward Golola as their new head coach.
Golola was unveiled at Tavern Woods in Kabusu along with his technical team.
The gaffer bounces back to management after seven months away with his last stint coming at Vipers SC in January.
He takes over from Muhammad Kisekka who was fired at the end of last season, a campaign that saw Tooro United relegated from the Uganda Premier League.
Speaking at his unveiling, Golola spoke of the ‘challenging task’ ahead but noted that he ready to execute.
“I thank the president of this great club, Tooro United Football Club for the wise decision to appoint me and the working team. Said Golola.
“We are aware it is a challenging job but we shall work together diligently.
“I am a winning coach and the recruitment exercise started immediately to beef up the team.”
Golola will work hand in hand with Simon Ddungu as the immediate assistant. The other on his technical team include Moses (Goalkeeping coach), Jamada Magaasi (Fitness coach) and Fred Kasendeke (Junior team head coach).
Tooro will feature in the 2020/21 FUFA Big League after finishing bottom of the UPL last season.
The club faces financial troubles last season, prompting many player to depart for greener pastures.
Whether those issues have been sorted remains to be seen.
