KAMPALA – Police FC have completed the signing of Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye.
Zaga signs from Vipers SC where he has spent all of his senior career, after graduating from St. Mary’s Kitende with whom he played at the schools’ level.
He is understood to have signed a two-year deal with the Cops until 2022.
His move was confirmed on Wednesday, August 26 via Police FC’s official Facebook page.
“Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye becomes our latest addition.” Read part of the post.
Upon becoming the club’s latest addition, Zaga promised to work hard as he looks forward to brightening his career, and help the club achieve it’s desired objectives.
“I feel so great doing this (signing).” Noted Zaga.
“I’m already feeling at home here. I’m looking at developing my talent, and working hard to make sure that both the club and myself achieve our goals.
“Team work and support will help us achieve our mission. Our fans will not be disappointed. We shall deliver and we will win great things.”
Zaga is regarded as arguably the most talent youthful footballer in Uganda but had somehow failed to elevate his game to the next level.
He failed to break into the Vipers SC starting on several occassions, prompting the club to loan him out to Express FC in the 2018/19 season.
Last season, he played a bit-part role as the Venoms secured their fourth Uganda Premier League title.
Zaga teams up with former coach Abdallah Mubiru, under whom he played at Kibuli SS six years ago.
Fahad Lumu, the Police FC CEO dubbed the youngster a winner.
“We promised to unveil to you players who are not only competitors ,but winners too.
“We believe the manpower we are acquiring will put us where we belong and achieve our goal”
Police FC finished a lowly 13th on the Uganda Premier League table last season and will be eager to better their performances this campaign.
